About page

Every morning, I was spending 40 minutes scrolling ProductHunt — trying to make sense of what had launched, what mattered, and what I could learn from it. Most days I gave up halfway through. That frustration became Launly.

It started with a simple frustration

ProductHunt is one of the best places on the internet to watch new ideas come to life. Every day, hundreds of products launch — apps, tools, workflows, experiments. I genuinely wanted to stay on top of it. But the format wasn't built for people like me.

I'm a builder. I have a day job, side projects, and approximately zero spare hours. Reading through a hundred product listings, sorting by votes, clicking into each one, skimming the thread — it was a 40-minute ritual that I kept starting and not finishing. The signal was there. I just couldn't extract it fast enough.

So I built the thing I needed

I wrote a script. A cron job, really — something that ran every night, grabbed the top products, and formatted them into an email I could read in three minutes over my morning coffee. No clicking. No scrolling. Just the five things worth knowing, with a short AI summary for each.

I shared it with a few friends. Then more friends asked for it. Then people I didn't know started asking. That's when I realised this wasn't just a personal utility — it was something other people needed too. So I cleaned it up, gave it a name, and shipped it properly.

What it became

Launly now runs every night at 11:55 PM UTC. It pulls the top products from ProductHunt, ranked by votes, and delivers a clean digest to your inbox. Each product comes with an AI-generated summary — and Pro subscribers get a full breakdown: market timing, feasibility score, target market analysis, and competition level.

You can subscribe to all topics, or filter to the ones you care about — AI, developer tools, SaaS, productivity, or whatever fits your work. The email is designed to be read in three minutes flat.

"Our job is to hand you the signal, stripped of the noise."

What we believe

A digest you skip is a digest that failed. So we obsess over length, clarity, and format. Every word in every email has to earn its place. If we can say it in fewer words, we do.

Topic filtering wasn't a feature request — it was the whole point. Getting 50 products you don't care about is worse than getting none. You should only ever see things that are actually relevant to your work.

We offer bilingual summaries — English and Chinese — and we keep the free tier genuinely useful. Not crippled. Not a teaser. Because we remember what it was like to be an indie dev watching every dollar, and we think good information shouldn't require a subscription to be valuable.

A note from the maker

Launly is a small product built by one person who got tired of missing things. It might always be small. That's fine. If it saves you 40 minutes and helps you spot one interesting idea each week, it's done its job. If you want to say hi, send feedback, or just tell me what you'd like to see — I read every email.
